Candidates taking the DSM examination must be pharmacists licensed in good standing with their state board of pharmacy. The DSM examination has been developed to assess the competencies of practicing pharmacists and should not be considered "entry level." It is recommended that pharmacists have two or more years of practice experience prior to sitting for the exams.
